NAPSA TO STOP RECEIVING CASH & CHEQUE PAYMENTS AT ITS OFFICES

The National Pension Scheme Authority has implemented various electronic payment platforms for employers to remit employees’ contributions. These include online intrabank, mobile money and debit/credit card payment options. Through these platforms, employers or their agents are able to pay NAPSA contributions at little or no charge without visiting any NAPSA office.

The Authority therefore wishes to inform all employers and the public that effective 1st October 2019, it will stop accepting cash and cheque payments for statutory contributions at all its offices along the line of rail and in provincial centres. The Authority will further stop accepting electronic fund transfers (RTGS & DDACC) that are not initiated on the intrabank eNAPSA payment platform.

This measure is aimed at enhancing efficiency and mitigating the risks associated with cash and cheque transactions as well as to promote the use of e-payment channels in line with Government’s agenda.

Employers are therefore urged to start making use of the stated payment methods before the cutoff date to avoid being inconvenienced.
