The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) has been awarded two Good Practice Award recognition certificates by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for its innovation in pension administration through the use of the online platform, eNAPSA, and for its effort to extend social security coverage to the informal Sector.
Speaking after receiving the awards on behalf of NAPSA, Director General, Mr. Yollard Kachinda thanked the staff for their effort to provide excellent service to customers.
“I thank the staff for the support and hard work as we continue to innovate and implement solutions to better serve our members. These awards are a huge boost to the entire team,” he added.
The ISSA Good Practice Awards are given to recognize good practices in the administration of social security. In the recent past, NAPSA has developed innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer service. The Authority has introduced a web-based portal, eNAPSA, through which employers and employees are able to transact with NAPSA online from anywhere.
Furthermore, the scheme has implemented a project unit called Extension of Coverage to the Informal Sector (ECIS) to bring onboard new members from the informal sector with the aim of ensuring that every worker in Zambia is socially protected.
The results were announced during the ISSA Regional Social Security Forum for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia recently. The regional competition, which is held every three years, involved 70 entries from 30 organizations in 21 African countries.
